When I introduced solids to my child, I would add my own mashed veggies, meats and starches to each jar variety. It was my own little way of making sure my child was eating fresh - plus it was a whole lot easier than making everything from scratch. We tried stage 1 through 3 purees and soups - my child really liked the sweet potato and winter squash varieties.
